No Blue Light Special
“On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”— John 14:20
There have been seasons in my life when I cared more about the opinions of people who hurt me than the truth of what God said about me.
You may have felt unseen, unwanted, or not good enough.
The words of others caused you to question your value.
But God wants you to know something today:
You are of great worth!
Before you were born, God knew you (Jeremiah 1:5).
Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit” (John 15:16).
God handpicked you to live in this exact moment in time for a purpose.
You are not an accident.
You are chosen on purpose.
You are precious and valuable to the God who created you, redeemed you, and calls you His own.
The apostle Paul wrote that we are like jars of clay—ordinary and imperfect on the outside, yet carrying an extraordinary treasure within (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Though we are cracked and imperfect, God has placed the greatest treasure of all within us—Jesus Christ.
The greatest treasure we will ever possess is not something money can buy.
It is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Because He is mine, and I am His, I am rich indeed.
I may feel like a plain old Rice Krispy, but in God’s hands, even the simplest things can become something special.
Your worth is not determined by your appearance, your past, your bank account, or what others think of you.
Your worth is determined by the One who created you and gave His life for you.
You are not damaged goods.
You are not discounted.
You are not a Blue light special!
You are Priceless.
When you begin to doubt your value, remember whose you are.
You belong to the King of Kings.
He chose you.
He redeemed you.
He lives within you.
And He loves you more than you can imagine.
Questions to think about:
1. What voices have shaped the way you see your worth?
2. How does knowing that Jesus lives within you change the way you view yourself?
3. What truths from God’s Word remind you of your value?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for knowing me before I was born and choosing me to be Yours.
Thank You for redeeming me and placing Your treasure within me.
Help me stop measuring my worth by the opinions of others.
Teach me to see myself the way You see me—chosen, loved, rich, and priceless.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
